This is us, Maud and Jonas.
We love travelling, banana pancakes, dancing in the car and meeting new people.
Our story is a lot about places. We come from two different countries, met in South America and we are currently living in Reunion Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Well, meanwhile we are actually back in Peru, back in Lima.
Together we speak 5 languages, explored 48 countries and lived in 6 of them.
The idea for Hēle & Lime was born while we were trekking the volcano Piton de la Fournaise on Reunion.
We wanted to create a platform where we can express our passion and enthusiasm.
Here, you will find everything about places we have been to, from our 3 favorite cafés in Barranco to the best hideaway in the South West of France. We can spend hours talking and exchanging ideas about traveling, about living in different places, about adventure.
We love getting inspired by others and inspire people.
But this is not just about the journey, we also want to share our way of living in different places, how it is to adapt to a new culture, a new environment, build new habits…
Finally we want to share our pictures with you, because we think that a picture can capture a particular moment – maybe even an emotion – which we might never see again.
We embrace adventure and the unknown.
Always stay curious.

Jonas

Born in a small city, I always felt the urge to leave my small comfort zone and see more of the world. This passion has already attracted me to many places – I lived in Germany, Australia, Colombia, Perú and Reunion Island. And I won’t stop moving. I love the outdoors – from hiking to camping, from exploring cities to national parks. My curiosity and the drive to “see more” always pushes me to challenge myself. Sports and food is a big thing for me, not always the best combination, but who cares ?

Maud

I come from a small island called Ile de la Réunion which means I have tropical expertise – such as how to climb a palm tree or cut pineapples in the perfect way . I would say that I am a bit obsessed with breakfast and everything coconut-related. My friends often wonder in which country I currently am, because I move a lot. Not only for travels but for living in these places – from exchange studies in Lima to working in Australia. Each destination is a unique experience which I want to share with you as accurate and captivating as possible.
