THE PERFECT HIDEAWAY
Scandinavian hot tub, sauna, chimney, good food, a bottle of wine, the view on open fields and trees – the perfect getaway for a few days.
Back then we lived in Toulouse, a beautiful french city in the South West of France. We rented a car to go on a small adventure, to spend some time in nature and away from the daily city life.
We booked our stay in Pella Roca quite some time ago which we highly recommend. At the moment there are only three wooden cabins which guarantees peace and intimacy, but on the other hand this means that you should book some time ahead in case you are looking for a weekend escape or a special date. After waiting for several weeks we were really excited to go. Even the way was already an experience in itself. We left Toulouse quite some time before our check-in at Pella Roca, allowing us to have enough time for some stops on the way and to arrive early to enjoy most of our time in Quercy and in Pella Roca. On the way you can enjoy views on open fields, small castles, farms and many small french villages.
Escaping and disconnecting from our daily life, our daily routines. No more car noise, tv of the ground floor neighbour, the smell of the city, smartphones, people pushing each other in the metro…
We chose to go in winter and really enjoyed it. Even though it’s getting dark quite early and you have only limited time for outdoor activities, the cabin itself offers enough for an unforgettable weekend – its own sauna, chimney and hot tub makes you wanna get cozy and relaxed the moment you step in. With all its comfort you won’t stay out in the cold for long anyway!
Waking up by the sound of birds and the warm sunlight falling on the bed.
We spent two days/one night at Pella Roca Cabanes & Spa en Quercy – the perfect place for some quality time in private atmosphere. Isabel and Maxime were super nice and welcoming. They explained us the essentials and showed us our cabin, where a welcoming drink was awaiting us. The cabins at Pella Roca are not just nicely designed and furnished, but also offer everything you could wish for – from a private scandinavian hot tub to your own sauna, small kitchen and chimney right in front of your comfortable bed. Everything was well prepared, but we appreciated the option to light up the fire for the hot tub and chimney by ourselves. The amazing food for dinner and brunch was served in a nice basket. While in the evening we chose to have dinner in front of the chimney, for brunch we chose the option to sit outside on our private terrace with an amazing view of the surroundings. We opted for the brunch option which allowed us to stay until 1pm.
We wish we could have stayed longer!
