AN OLD FISHERMAN’S VILLAGE WHICH INVITES FOR A PERFECT SUNDAY BREAK
Terre Sainte, in walking distance to the center of Saint Pierre on la Réunion, is originally the fishermen’s district which has grown in size over the years while the old houses along the coast remained intact. This colourful neighbourhood with many narrow streets and a lot of street art is the perfect place for a Sunday walk combined with a lunch break in one of the small cafes or fish-restaurants. The small beach next to the old harbour lays protected by surrounding rocks and invites for some sunbathing. But you shouldn’t miss out on exploring a bit further the winding streets along the coast. Behind each corner you will find some more colourful street art next to big fruit trees and flowers. This place has its own time and speed – the laid-back atmosphere with people playing domino under the big banyan trees as well as young couples, friends and families who are enjoying the fresh air in the shadow of these iconic trees is giving this place a special vibe.
